Just the Truth Podcast with Joey Hudson
President Donald Trump says he’s considering legal action against author Michael Wolff and the estate of Jeffrey Epstein, claiming a newly released trove of DOJ Epstein-related files clears him of wrongdoing and accusing Wolff of political collusion.
Meanwhile, a new Fox News survey shows Democrats rising on the generic congressional ballot, leading Republicans by 6 points — the highest margin in the network’s history, raising questions about GOP prospects as the 2026 midterm season heats up. (Survey details reported widely, Fox News)
In national news, former CNN host Don Lemon was arrested and charged with federal civil rights violations in connection with his coverage of an anti-ICE protest that interrupted a church service in Minneapolis. Lemon denies wrongdoing and says he was merely reporting, arguing the charges threaten press freedom.
And it’s winter weather season — cold advisories are in effect along the Eastern Seaboard, with New York City experiencing its longest prolonged freeze in decades (weather reporting).

• Democrats surge on generic ballot survey

When crisis hits, it’s often local organizations — not headlines — that step in to save lives.
On this episode, we shine a light on two Upstate organizations working every day to protect the vulnerable, restore dignity, and offer real hope in the midst of hardship.
Joining us is Safe Harbor Director of Housing and Advocacy Michelle Gilbert, who explains how Safe Harbor helps victims of domestic violence and their children find safety, stability, and a path forward — not only through emergency shelter, but through long-term housing, legal advocacy, and survivor-centered support.
We’re also joined by Miracle Hill Ministries President and CEO Ryan Duerk, who shares how Miracle Hill has been serving the Upstate for decades through emergency shelters, recovery programs, foster care, and faith-based solutions to homelessness. As winter storms hit the region, Miracle Hill’s cold-weather shelters are responding in real time — providing warmth, safety, and hope when it’s needed most.
This conversation matters — because domestic violence and homelessness don’t always make headlines, but they affect families, neighborhoods, and communities every single day.

Political rage is no longer staying online — and today’s show proves it.
In this episode of Just the Truth, we break down a series of stories that all point to the same troubling trend: when ideology overrides professionalism, accountability follows.
🚨 BLOCK 1:
Florida has emergency-suspended the nursing license of a labor and delivery nurse who publicly wished severe childbirth injuries on White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt. This wasn’t a private comment or political hyperbole — it was a licensed healthcare professional invoking her role while celebrating physical harm. Florida officials say that crossed an ethical red line.
🚨 BLOCK 2:
Rep. Ilhan Omar was confronted at a town hall after a man sprayed her with a substance later identified as apple cider vinegar. While violence is never justified, we examine how the media rushed to frame the incident — and ignored the broader climate created by years of rhetoric demonizing federal law enforcement.
🚨 BLOCK 3:
New Census data shows the U.S. is now experiencing negative net migration, while South Carolina leads the nation in domestic growth. The Trump administration says enforcement is working — we look at what the numbers actually show and why it matters for schools, jobs, and public services.
🚨 BLOCK 4:
South Carolina taxpayers may be on the hook for $150 million in cost overruns tied to the Scout Motors EV deal. Lawmakers are now debating whether economic development incentives went too far — and what this means for future projects.
We also cover:
• Attorney General Pam Bondi’s announcement of 16 arrests tied to assaults on federal agents in Minneapolis
• The legal battle over video evidence in the murder case of Charlie Kirk, founder of Turning Point USA
• What accountability looks like when leaders actually act
This episode isn’t about outrage — it’s about responsibility, professionalism, and whether we still believe the rules apply to everyone.

A major story out of Virginia tonight: VCU Health confirms a nurse is under investigation after posting videos online that called for violence and sabotage against federal law enforcement. The nurse has been placed on administrative leave, and VCU Police are assisting as the investigation moves forward.
Meanwhile in Minnesota, tensions keep rising. Roughly 200 agitators gathered outside Governor Tim Walz’s office inside the State Capitol, chanting “ICE out now!” and “Do your job!” — bringing the anti-ICE pressure campaign right to the governor’s doorstep.
Also — tax filing season is officially open, and Treasury projections say refunds could surge to $429 billion — up from $329 billion last year — with the White House crediting President Trump’s “One Big Beautiful Bill” for larger refunds this year.
Plus: Congressman William Timmons (SC-04) joins us with an update from Capitol Hill on where the shutdown fight is headed — and what Republicans are doing to keep the government open.

Tom Homan Takes Over Minnesota as Anti-ICE Chaos Explodes (Ep 646)
Tuesday Jan 27, 2026
Tuesday Jan 27, 2026
Just the Truth Podcast with Joey Hudson
The chaos in Minnesota keeps escalating — and now the Trump Administration is making a major command shift. The White House says Border Patrol Commander Greg Bovino is leaving Minnesota, and Border Czar Tom Homan will take over on the ground, reporting directly to President Trump as federal immigration enforcement continues in Minneapolis and St. Paul.
Then this: a self-described Antifa agitator posted a chilling call for an “armed” mob to hit the streets and “do what needs to be done” to push federal agents out of the Twin Cities — the kind of rhetoric that takes an already volatile situation and pours gasoline on it.
Meanwhile in Washington, Senate Republicans say they’re moving forward with a massive funding package to keep the government open — and they’re aiming to push past Democratic opposition, with DHS spending right in the middle of the fight.
And here at home, South Carolina Republicans are on track to keep our “First-in-the-South” spot on the 2028 GOP presidential primary calendar — a big win for the SC GOP and a reminder that South Carolina remains one of the most important proving grounds in presidential politics.
📌 In today’s show:
-
Tom Homan takes over Minnesota operations (Bovino exits)
-
“Armed mob” rhetoric from an Antifa agitator raises stakes
-
Senate GOP funding package showdown to avoid a shutdown
-
South Carolina’s 2028 “First-in-the-South” primary momentum

A historic winter storm slammed the Midwest and East Coast over the weekend, knocking out power to hundreds of thousands, canceling thousands of flights, and putting the nation’s power grid under serious strain. We break down where conditions stand today, what areas were hit hardest, and what Americans should expect next.
Meanwhile, chaos erupted in Minneapolis following a deadly federal immigration enforcement operation. Protesters clashed with ICE and Homeland Security agents, tear gas was deployed, and violence escalated — including one shocking incident where a federal agent lost a finger after being bitten by a protester. We examine what federal officers are facing on the ground and why tensions continue to spiral.
We also take a closer look at Congresswoman Ilhan Omar, as renewed scrutiny surrounds the rapid rise in wealth tied to businesses connected to her husband, longtime Democratic operative Tim Mynett. With Congress now reviewing financial disclosures and past business dealings, questions of transparency, ethics, and oversight are back in the spotlight.
Plus, South Carolina lawmakers advance legislation that would require the Ten Commandments to be displayed in public school classrooms, along with other foundational historical documents. Supporters argue it’s about history and heritage — critics claim it crosses constitutional lines. We break down what’s in the bill, where it stands, and what happens next.
📌 Topics covered in this episode:
• Historic Winter Storm impacts & power outages
• Minneapolis ICE protests & violence against federal agents
• Ilhan Omar finances & congressional scrutiny
• Ten Commandments bill in South Carolina schools

On today’s episode of Word on the Street, we highlight two powerful Upstate organizations that are changing lives through opportunity, preparation, and hope.
First, we’re joined by Lara Ceisel, Executive Director of the Barbara Stone Foundation, and Carlene Zierfuss, Transition Coordinator with Greenville County Schools, to talk about The Road to Possibilities — An Opportunity Fair, happening Thursday, February 5th at the University Center in Greenville.
This free, family-friendly event connects students with disabilities and their families to critical resources in:
• Education and transition planning
• Employment and vocational opportunities
• Life skills and independent living
• Community and support services
The goal is simple: help students plan confidently for life after high school.
Later in the show, we head to Wellford, South Carolina, to visit with Melanie Watt, Founder and CEO of Hope Remains Ranch — a Christ-centered nonprofit ministry offering healing, mentoring, and spiritual growth through counseling and powerful horse-assisted programs for children, adults, and families.
From education and employment to faith, healing, and restoration — this episode shines a spotlight on the people making a real difference right here in the Upstate.
